The Transition Phase

Introduction
Periodically all nations have to adjust to the changing dynamics that impact their economies and their cultures.
Some of these changes happen slowly over a period of many years or decades. An example would be the introduction of railroads that gradually changed the way people and products were moved very quickly between locations that were hundreds of miles apart.
On the other hand, some changes happen relatively quickly over a period of a few weeks or months. An example would be a war that destroys the farmlands, the manufacturing facilities, the bridges, the roads, and the utilities that used to make life possible for the people who live in the affected area.
In the not too distant future the people of the USA and the people of Europe may discover that they will need to make some very significant changes in their daily activities if they want their families to be able to survive the hardships that may be suddenly thrust upon them.
Discussion
The common people of a nation have no control over the destiny of their nation.
Government leaders, and military leaders, and major corporations, and ultra-rich families control the destiny of all nations worldwide.
If a world war erupts in the near future, then many things will change. For example:
- Every nation, including the really, really poor nations, probably have a team of professional hackers who are just waiting for them to be given the official approval to transmit a new virus to shut down the utility networks of all their enemies. Or they may simply need to transmit an activation code to an existing virus that has already been successfully transmitted and installed. Or they may simply need to stop sending a "delay" code on a regular schedule and a previously installed virus will self-activate because it did not receive its regular "delay" command code when it was due. Water treatment facilities, and power generation facilities, and gas distribution networks will just stop working. And some of these utilities may stop working because they have been infected with a variety of different viruses from different sources that were designed to attack a different but critical part of the utility system. This may be the way that the next world war is started because it is almost impossible to track a computer virus back to its source. And the damage that will be done by the citizens of a nation when they run out of water, and food, and electricity, and gas will be far greater than any damage that could have been caused by some type of bomb.
- Social Security checks and Medicare benefits may cease. Every year the USA government has been spending the money that we have been depositing into our Social Security accounts since the creation of the Social Security system in the USA. Almost everyone knows that the Social Security system is bankrupt and that it is on short-term life-support. However, a war will provide a very convenient excuse to dismantle the entire Social Security and Medicare system and this will have a disastrous impact on retired people and on their extended families.
- Pension funds may stop making pension payments and the people who depend on these pension payments may be abandoned. After these people are dead then their pension accounts may simply disappear for one reason or another, such as the accounts were hacked and there is no way to restore the digital records. And paper records cannot be trusted because they are too easily forged.
- Banks may freeze the bank accounts of their depositors until the banks can determine if their financial records have been hacked. This may take months or years. However, everyone who owes a bank anything will need to continue making payments to the bank or the bank will foreclose on them and kick them out of their home, or repossess their vehicle and leave them stranded. And the government will legally support these actions of the banking industry against the common people.
- Governments may demand that all of our young people join the military and that our children will need to be sent to some foreign land so they can be killed. Whoops. I meant to say to protect us. However, the people in most nations worldwide are not the same as they were just 30 years ago. Most citizens do not believe that their government cares about them and that their government is telling the truth. Therefore most families may not allow their children or their grandchildren to be gathered up and sent off to some foreign land where they will be killed. However, this is just my opinion and I could be wrong.
- Chaos will probably reign worldwide. People who have been wrongfully injured by their government, or who have been lied to by their government, may take action to eliminate the leaders that they believe are the true source of all their problems. And there will probably be no safe hiding place for the ultra-rich families that will not eventually be discovered by the people who have a legitimate grudge against those families. However, this is just my opinion and I hope that I am wrong. The Holy Bible says that God will judge the people who do evil and that God will punish those people in proportion to their sins and God will punish them at a time of His choosing. The Holy Bible says that people should not seek revenge on anyone and that includes mob violence. However, I suspect that the majority of the people in the world have no respect for the Holy Bible and that they will do whatever they desire. If this happens then those people who encouraged other people to ignore the teachings of the Holy Bible may soon become subject to the wrath of the people who followed their advice and who no longer believe the Holy Bible. This would be an example of "poetic justice" in action.
- Shortly after the war begins all governments and all organizations may begin using food as money. Most governments have paper money that is not backed by anything except faith in the government. When the war starts paper money may be accepted for a very short period of time but people will quickly stop selling or exchanging anything that they currently own that has true value for some pieces of paper, or for a digital number somewhere in some computer. People everywhere will be starving to death and people will accept food in payment for whatever they are asked to do by any government, or by any organization, or by any person. Even though this has happened many, many times since the beginning of the world, perhaps it won't happen again during the next famine.
Conclusion
In my opinion, the transition from a time of peace to a time of war is almost at hand.
As I have mentioned in some of my other articles, whatever you own when the war begins will probably be all that your family will have for many, many years. No family can have enough water, and food, and bullets to last a lifetime. Every family will need to be able to replenish their drinking water, and grow their own food, and know how to fish, and know how to trap wild game animals. Every family will need to know how to correctly dry fresh food and fresh meat so that it will be edible for a very long time. Every family will need to know how to cook their meals from scratch.
But the most important thing that a family must have will be faith in God. And every member of a family will need to know how to pray. God is still listening and God still loves you even if the world may be falling apart all around you.
